Agenda and Committee Updates

President

Update

  • Rep goalie pad sizes will be strictly enforced this year.
  • Referee emphasis this year will be checking to the head.
  • Directors are reminded to use new referee booking procedures for evaluation and exhibition games.
  • Grass roots camps are available fore free through the ODHA – Jeff Baker (tc@odha.com) has further information. This is free to our association, but there is a cost to players.
  • The ODHA is starting an equipment donation program.
  • IP cannot hold any “fun games” unless players have had 15 practices, or not before November 30. All games must be ˝ ice.
  • All convenor contact information is to be sent to Joan Gurinskas by September 15.

  • Louise presented registration numbers as of August 23, numbers are a little low, however walk in registration night (September 2) should see numbers increase
  • The final date that teams need to have their budgets in will change from April 1 to April 15. Joan Gurinskas will ensure this change is made in the Rules and Regulations

·        Photos have been booked for November 7 and 8 in the ORC crush space

Update

  • No coach yet for Major Midget.
  • The OMHA hockey office is moving to crush space booth and office directly across the hall for the short term.
  • The Mentorship seminar is ready, there are 40 spots available; each Director is to send in the names of their coaches and their coaching level.

Update

·        Information night is ready to go.

·        Introduction to coaching course ice has been confirmed, and room booked at Ray Friel.

·        No convenor yet for IP.

·        Nominate Bob Picard for Novice convenor.

·        OMHA Apparel notice should be up on website shortly.

·        Evaluators are being lined up.

·        As of today, received 11 registrations for Coaches clinic, expect to confirm course by August 31.

Update

·              Lining up evaluators.

·              Evaluation website almost ready, will send to Bob Baggs shortly.

·              No convenor yet for Bantam.

 

New Business

Parental Contributions

  • Tom presented suggestions to the Board to protect parental contributions. The Board will continue discussions along with sponsorship and fundraising

 

Louise Groulx Hockey Development Fund

  • It was unanimously agreed at a previous meeting that the funds will be allotted to 3 areas, Player Development, Coach Development and Manager Development. The Board of Directors will vote to allot these funds as demand warrants.
